At 16 weeks my cervix was at 1.5cm. I got an immediate cerclage and was put on p17 shots. My first pregnancy was a preemie so I'm hoping to carry longer this time. Moderate bedrest since the cerclage. I'm at 28+3 now! Good luck.

Wow I don't see why they would make you do that. Yeah make sure you defiantly ask about the cerclage!

Pregnancy because its my second child and the dr said its very common. It hasn't caused me any issues

I think it's probably ok then. I'd double check with your dr but mine said its just because our bodies have already been through labor

They tried to get you to take pills to miscarry? Wow.. I'd be mad. And they should have given you other options but definitely check with your normal doc.

if everything is fine with the baby there is no need for that pill they are trying to give you. i would look into a different doc/hospital. i had something similar to your condition and my doc sent me to a high risk perinatalogist and he put me on bedrest and told me not get out of that bed unless i have to use bathroom and my SO prepared food for me. i was in bed for a week and after that week i went back and he said my cervix closed its self back up. he started me on the progesterone shots to help keep my cervix strong and to help it stop shorting. stay in bed and keep your legs higher than your hips. i hope this helps. i am 30 weeks pregnant right now and thankful for my doc because he took the right approach to my problem. GOOD LUCK HUNNY AND I PRAY EVERYTHING GOES WELL FOR YOU

Do your research and don't be afraid to ask questions. Seek a second opinion if you do not agree with your current doctor on his treatment plan. You may also have the right to SAY NO to certain medical treatments, medications, and procedures (depends on your health issues, laws in your area,doctor/hospital policies, etc.) It is also ILLEGAL to force a woman against her will to terminate unless the life of the mother is in danger, the life of the baby is in danger due to abnormalities/health issues - policies and laws may vary from state to state. Research online (google) and lawyers.com are good starts. Goodluck and bless you. :-)
