"whiteheads" on nipples?

Ok ladies, My son is 3 weeks old and bf has been going well until this morning. It's a little more uncomfortable than usual, not too painful and I noticed little bumps that look like tiny whiteheads on both nipples. Anyone else had this?

That is normal. Your nipples make more oil to keep themselves lubricated. That's all nothing to worry about.

you should see a lactation consultant , make sure baby's latch is good.

It could be the start of clogged milk ducts. Def see an LC.

I had a clogged duct, but it was not at the nipple. Usually u can't see the clog, you can feel it as a hard lump in the breast. Whiteheads on the nipple wouldn't mean the start of clogged ducts. You can also ask a la leche league person to look at the latch if discomfort continues-but remember, baby's suction gets stronger as they get older.

Funny cuz the la leche league LC the one who told me in a breastfeeding class that it can be the start of clogged ducts. U have glands all over ur breasts, not just up high.

Is it a milk blister? Ive never had one but I've seen post about it. Do a search here and I'm sure something will come up.

Are they on the areola or the actual nipple? I have little bumps on my areola that look like whiteheads. My doc told me it was from increased oils on my nipples to help keep them lubricated since I started BFing and they're perfectly normal.
