Hey ladies,
Just wanted to know, have any of you had photos of bub and the fam taken at pixie fotos?
They have a really good deal atm, and I thought maze well give them ago!!! Also I'm stuck at what I should get my baby girl to wear as all her cute clothes are 00 and she is still 000 bub is 3.5months so was thinking of her going nude!!!
Any thoughts or tips would be great as we are going today!

I haven't used them but I think the photos are quite expensive, so I would look into that. Have you tired the 00 outfits on? Some might fit, my 5 month old has been in a mix of 00 and 000 for the last few months!

Nude photos are cute, although I'm always conscious of not having embarrassing photos for when bub gets older! Just something to think about, it really depends on how you position them anyway :-)

Yep I got sucked in too! They took heaps of pics and they were very expensive. I later did lil master piece photos which were expensive also but I haggled them down and got all the photos taken for $400 which I got roughly 10 different shots and all different sizes. GL

I paid $500 for 20 photos on a disk!!! Total rip off didn't even get to choose the 1s I likes the most!! Then we were asked to sign a form to allow them to use our sons photo 4 advertising, how could we not, but we didn't get a thing out of it. I would recommend looking on Facebook pages or asking around, there are lots of independent photographers working from home or small studios that are to much cheaper!!!! We had a hour long shoot for 75$ all (even out of focus, of centre, not smiling) images on a disk and we could choose as many as we liked to have enhanced and I can't notice the difference in quality!!! But I live photos and no doubt I will get sucked in again with next bub

Ice had them done and I wouldn't change a thing with them! They r the only pics we have up in the house. Think it was $500-600 for 10 pics, all diff sizes etc. expensive but well worth the money!
They do have some cute outfits and wings etc props there

don't go to pixi or any of those photo companies they will ask for thousands of dollars for photos, get a photographer that works for them self so much cheaper most around $300 and you get every photo on a disc free of water marking in high res so you can print as many copies as you want, I'm a photographer and I can't stand these companies that want to charge thousands for 10 photos

I also did the photo for $10. They tried to sell me over $1000 worth if photos. Only thing extra I bought was a couple of stubbie holders for family (classy!)..

To be honest our Pixi foto experience was awful! The photographer was pretty crap and although my dd was completely overwhelmed she kept making these weird noises which wound my dd up even more.

Photos not that great and a lot of the backdrop and props I found completely tacky.

I would definitely recommend either going to a professional studio away from an overwhelming shopping centre or getting a friend handy with a good quality camera to come take pics at home.

Don't go to pixie photos! They're a huge rip off.
Find a private photographer.
I did and she was wonderful, took like 200 photos, edited them all, made some really special fantasy edits then put them all on a disk for me. Cost $160.
Shop around.

not to be nasty, but they're not photographers really, they advertise on seek saying you need no photography experience at all, and they can be very pushy when it comes to buying all the extra photos from them
like pp said, you're better off finding a reputable proper photographer, who will be upfront with you, and can probably provide you with smaller photo packages too if thats what you're after.

They are a rip off! They don't even edit their photos!
You will get much better photos possibly for cheaper!

So we went today, and it was actually really good. They were really good with bub and when she started getting tired and upset we went and had lunch to give her a break and a bit of a nap and went back and finished the shoot. We got 5 prints they put together that had 2-3 or 4 pics on them and framed and all our pics on a cd for $1000. All the pictures were edited for us. It wasn't a bad experience at all we must of been lucky and got a good franchise. We weren't pressured into buying all the pictures we were just in love with how good our baby girl was and wanted the memories, we must be suckers as this is our first bub, hopefully bub no2 gets the same lol

I could have taken better photos on my iPhone! Total waste of time! I only took the free one.

They seemed to have a set 'script' of what poses they did! Felt very impersonal!

Sorry to hijack this but does anybody else find it annoying that you can't shop in the baby section of target anymore without being harassed by the pixie photo ppl? They have aggressive sales tactics

It's 5 big prints that go on the wall and each print has 2-3 or 4 photos in it plus framing and a cd of everything. Some places aren't that different and wedding photos are heaps more we are also in the process of organising our wedding and that's much much more

It depends on the quality. I would be skeptical at wedding photos that cheap- even family photographers charging $200. Unless they are SAHMs trying to get some extra cash.
She paid that much most likely for framing! Frames are so expensive!

I got my newborn photos of bub for $180, the same photographer that took our wedding photos (she branched out). Couldn't be happier. One photo is my pic on here.

Glad you like your photos though Kate.

When I get the photos I will put them up and u can see it's not just 5 simple photos. They are large and framed, edited and personalized with our daughters name on them. We were happy with photos. Maybe depending on what franchise u go to, may depend on what photographer you get and their standard of work. We were happy to spend the money as they were good photos if they weren't we wouldn't of bought them.
Oh I can already tell wedding photos are going to be expensive, will have to shop around, hoping we can get someone to travel, as we just decided on our wedding ceremony and reception venue and getting a photographer from around that area will be ridiculous!!

Lol, someone in my mothers group spent $200 on props to take photos of her baby, in several of them she was surrounded by flowers, pink feather boas, and was wearing huge star sunglasses. Some of the other girls in my group told her how cute they were and she should do them professionally! Way over the top for me. She took one where bub was just on a white blanket, so much nicer! There must be a market for photos like that, I don't understand it at all!

Our photography was $5500... But because hubby and I are photographers we were picky and knew exactly what we wanted!
I also hate tacky props and stuff in photos! I'm not even a huge fan of studio photos in general. The best kind is natural lighting! The only time we use flash is if it's getting to dark for us to use just our camera.
