lemonade instead of water??

Hello ladies :) I am 13 weeks tomorrow and since my 8th week the thought of drinking water plain has made me nauseated. I have substituted it with lemonade. I am however worried about the sugar content. I can't stomach plain milk either. This really bothers me because prior to my 8th week I drank a ton of water and milk (and nothing else). Any thoughts about drinking lemonade in place of water?? Thanks.

I drink lots of lemonade too, as a matter of fact I freeze it in my ice cube trays and when I am feeling really sick and don't feel like drinking anything I will eat the lemonade ice really slow and it is good and gives me some fluids that are hard to get in... I think right now whatever your body can handle is fine I have a hard time with plain water sometimes too!!

Have u tried crystal light? It has no calories or sugar. Maybe that will be a good supplement?

Be wary of the artificial sweeteners as some OB's will say nada to that.

Omg I can sooooo relate. I haven't drank more than a cup of plain water in weeks! Sad but true. The thought of drinking water makes me eeek! I've been drinking mostly watered down iced tea and coconut water. My midwife said it's fine, as long as I drink mostly decaffinated tea. I do look forward to drinking plain ice cold water again, though I was never a big fan of water (only drank when really thirsty and ice cold). Water is better, just not right now.

I can rate here too, I used to only be able to drink soda because the carbonation helped to soothe my morning sickness and then recently I've been on an arnold Palmer kick (iced tea/lemonade mix) and last nite actually I got brave and drank an ice cold glass of water with my dinner and it was sooooo good! So good infact that i ignored my iced tea bev and got seconds on the water! :) I haven't had water plain like that in about 2 months or so!!!!

1stbaby just be careful with the coconut water. I have heard that it is used (in large quantities) to bring on labour or cause the body to abort. Used by islanders in Bali & fiji. I don't have much more info as I have just been told this. Coconut is a strong natural diuretic too

I drink orange juice non stop! As if I could live off of it. a gallon is done within 2 days. Mmmmm.. I want some now. Have you tried lemon water? Just plain water with a couple squeezes of lemon juice.

To give my bottled water some flavor without sugar I add the single packs of sugar free grape Kool-Aid - yum!!

First 12 weeks I was repulsed by plain water...for the past few weeks i cant get enough of it. Oj and milk are great for me now too. Earlier in my pg I was drinking oj and natural root beer with cane sugar. I also heard that those sugar substitutes are not good for baby anything "sugar free" but still sweet like crystal light or even Gatorade.

Thanks again for the replies. I have tried the lemon water, but for some reason it still makes me sick. I also stopped trying Kool-Aid because it made me sick too. I won't do anything with artificial sugars or with carbonation. It seems like I need sour to keep from getting sick. I hope this is normal. I also wonder what the sugar can do to effect the baby. Any ideas?

What about trying smoothies with frozen fruit and orange juice? Or you could sub the o.j. for frozen yogurt and add milk or water to thin it out?

If you're worried about having too much sugar and do not want artificial sweeteners try using 1/2 glass lemonade and 1/2 water.
I love it!
