Decreased fetal movement 35 weeks?

For the past 3 days baby boy's movement has slowed down drastically. He used to move non stop and they were big, strong movements. He still has a few periods during the day where he's active.. But usually he will hardly move even if I push on him or shake my belly a little bit. It's really scaring me :/

At 32 weeks I was 1cm and 70% effaced and I've had very consistent BH, especially recently (some every 5 minutes, some every 30). A few BH are quite painful, like a period cramp, and I have pretty bad back pain. My doctor doesn't expect me to go past 38-39 weeks, and I have a feeling he will come soon..

Is this sudden decrease in movement normal? Could it be a sign of impending labor? Please help!!

I'm eating a cookie to see if it'll get him moving. Im a bit crampy & getting BH every few minutes too... Going to call L&D to see what they say. It's just so unlike him that it's really starting to worry me :(

at this stage babies start to run out of room to move because our bodies absorb some of thr amniotic fluid which caises less movement. he could be sleeping, my little guy sleeps a lot throughout the day and is up a lot in theevening. try drinking orange juice to wake him up....its worked for me in the past when i was a little worries. of course when all else fails call the dr, better t be safe...good luck
